I have an sds100 scanner running audio to Proscan through a usb audio adapter to my HP laptop. The audio does come through but is so noisy with background hiss that it is nearly unreadable. When I unplug the sds100 read/write usb cable, leaving only the audio-through USB adapter connected, then the audio is crystal clear through Proscan.
I’ve tried several different laptop port combinations including USB-C ports, USB-A ports either with or without a usb hub and results are the same. Audio can be toggled on and off with the “Loopback” button in Proscan. As soon as I plug in the SDS read/write USB communication cable to the sds100, the audio has a very loud constant hiss. There are ferrites on both the audio cable and the read/write communication cable. My laptop does not have an audio-in port hence, the use of a usb audio adapter. Changing level settings in Proscan seem to make no difference other than changing overall volume of input/output of audio.
Any suggestions to fix the hiss?
