I’ve been using Proscan to connect my feed to Broadcastify. I had a power outage and now the scanner, BCD536HP, won’t connect to the com port on Proscan.

I’ve power cycled both the computer and the radio.

I’ve reconnected the scanner to my WiFi network.

When I select the scanner using Proscan it appears in the list, but it doesn’t seem to want to connect.

I’m out of ideas. Any suggestions?

It says request timed out.
Alright so not exclusively a Proscan issue then...

And you've confirmed via the scanner itself that the IP address is correct?
Menu > Wi-fi Setup > Show wifi Information

Temporarily disable firewall apps if enabled & see if the connection resolves

Yes. Confirmed same ip address on scanner as what is showing up on Proscan. I don’t have anything else running on this computer. No Windows Defender or antivirus. Unless something was updated and changed automatically…. I’m not sure what to disable on the PC.

Thanks for all of your help. I was able to ping the scanner from other computers but it wasn’t working on the one I needed. I did some troubleshooting and specifically looking why a ping wasn’t working. I tried doing some changes to windows defender, but that didn’t help. In the end, I tried this and restarted the computer and it worked.

  • Run Network Commands: Open Command Prompt as Administrator and run the following commands, pressing Enter after each:
    • netsh winsock reset
    • netsh int ip reset
    • ipconfig /release
    • ipconfig /renew
    • ipconfig /flushdns
  • Restart Hardware: Power cycle your router and restart your computer. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
