I just installed the latest version of Proscan (on a trial basis so far) and have a USB to serial cable connect from my BC780XLT to the PC, and my feed is streaming. I love the product, but I am having one small problem.

When viewing Proscan locally, the channel data pops up just as soon as the scanner stops on a channel. When viewing across my wireless netowrk, it pops up quickly as well. However, if I connect from work, then the channel data lags behind by several (~ 6-8)seconds. My initial thought is that my upload speed isn't fast enough. I have about 256k upload speed, and 2.7Mbs down. Is my upload speed not fast enough? The scanner is connected at a baud rate of 19400 (or whatever the fastest one is). Anyone had this problem?

As an FYI, my feed is at radioscanner.bounceme.net on port 8006. You MIGHT be lucky enough to actually hear traffic... it is generally pretty slow.

I thought about e-mailing Bob at Proscan, but I figured I'd try you guys first.

Thanks,
Chris

I don't think its your Internet speed because I also run ProScan feed (san.solarix.net port 5000) on a crappy connection and it doesn't lag for me on the data side. When multiple people are connected the lack of bandwidth is usually noticed in the audio breaking up.
Do you have another serial port adapter you could try? Or try it directly without the USB adapter and see if it still happens. One other thing to try is see if the problem occurs when using the default data port of 5000?

I think I figured out my own problem. I have so much stuff running on my PC that the data and audio got out of sync. I closed a few things and restarted Proscan, and everything appears to be running correctly now.

Thanks for the help,
Chris
