I tried out the proscan software in 1.7 when it had the bandscope function but didnt like it.

I now just downloaded the 1.8 demo which has a lot of enhancements, however I have long since uninstalled 1.7 demo. When I load up 1.8 demo I get a 30 day expire. Is there a way to clear this so that I can demo the 1.8 and check out if I like the bandscope functions yet?

no replies? eh I just killed the timer and it works now, haha obviously a little too much as there is no timer.

Might I suggest that if you see it to be acceptable to your business model that you add in function to the timer to be version specific and if I already went past a 30 day limit then i get like 5 days with the new version demo?

Also after fully testing the new version can I add some enhancements? I would like to not have the slder controls to control the tuned frequency bar and it would auto tune to that frequency on mouse_up and pause the scan of the band until i hit go again.

also I have decided to not buy the program at this time due to the lack of programming ability, I would really like to see this area improved. bctool has it real nice (as good as butel GUI and better) but your programming interface is very obtuse a lot of clicking to get what others have in fewer clicking to program, also a huge improvement that would be cool is the ability to transfer programming from radio type to radio type (ie I own the 246/396/996/15 uniden radios) anything you can do to make that programming faster would be great - as in BCtools i can export and import systems into other radios very easy..

hope this feedback helps, I do really like the control programming you have and a great deal with the remote radio control!

Newer versions are supposed to reset the 30 day trial. I just tested it with your scenario and it didn't work so something broke. I'll be fixing that later today.

Request or suggestions should be posted on the ProScan message board.

To clear up what you stated about "lack of programming ability". That’s not correct as ProScan has complete programming ability.

ProScan can import data from any DMA scanner type to any DMA scanner type that ProScan supports. 996, 396, 15, 330

i guess where my area of concern was that the text list control isnt as easy to navigate for DMA programming flow as lets say the newer list control in use on bctool with a tree_view control.

I have no way to export and import systems directly from one database or the other or did i miss out on a conversion factor with database and radio (just attach radio and import the database into it)

I'm not sure what you mean by "text list control " Did you mean "Tree View"?
If you have any suggestions, please post them on the ProScan Request forum so I can consider them. I added about 5 this past week because they were requested.

To import from 996, 396, 15, 330 scanner types to 996, 396, 15, and 330 scanner type:
If a database file is not open, either open or create a new database. Menu Database - Open (or New). The daatabase type 996, 396, 15, 330 is determine by the ProScan Scanner Type setting.

Once a database is open, click on Import in the database menu then click on ProScan (DMA) and then a dialog will appear. Click the button "Get Files" and pick the file.
There is no need to export to a ProScan DMA type. The conversion is done with the Import.
