as I said before.
In the Favorites Editor (NOT the Window with the virtual Scanner)

Select File and look down at the 7th option (import RR web Subscription required).

You may have to select File>New first to populate a blank database before importing.

make sure you remember to save.

I am in the Favorites Editor. That's where I get the aforementioned message. I does not go any further than that. I get the message and can't do anything. Trying to figure out if I want to buy this or not. I have been using ARC for the last decade and Sentinel since it came out also. They are so simple to use and always work flawlessly. Would love to see this work properly. I don't like manually programming scanners anymore.

I suspect it means that you should click on the Database menu (in Proscan) then open a database file (Open) or make a new one (New).

So in the favorites editor if you click on file do you not see Open and New as file options? If so. Please select New. That will create a default database to import into. Click File>Save. And the click file again and Select the option for importing for Radio Reference. Fill in you details and log in and select what you would like to import.

File, Save as in the Favorites Editor, then select a folder.

Then create a new Favorite List with the Add Favorite menu.

Then you can import without issues. I just tested by downloading WV-SIRN to a test favorite list, and it worked without errors.

Prosscan, in my opinion is hands down one of the most versatile programs for working with any Uniden DMA Scanner.
Well worth the cost and way more feature rich than any other program I have used.

It takes a bit to figure all out but, get Thirty days before you have to pony up any cash.

I forgot I had the ProScan free trail months ago on my computer was thinking getting the paid version looks like the same setup as Sentinel.

What is the difference from ProScan to Sentinel?

Well right now for starters NXDN support. Which Sentinel is still working on implanting. But the list is pretty impressive...

Audio capture and Streaming .
Built in Web Server for serving audio feeds
Call logging and recording
Remote control via Web interface
Very nice database/favorites editor

And I know I haven't even scratched the surface of what else it can do.

Well worth the money

Bob has put a lot of good work into this program, and his efforts are worth supporting.

Thanks guys for providing support. In addition to Sanscanman post. Sentinel is required to edit the profile and update the master HPDB(Database) files.

ProScan doesn't have a profile editor as I thought that would be a duplicate effort and not much to add in that area however the Favorites Editor is a different game. Here is what ProScan can do that I believe Sentinel can't.

  • Multiple Favorites on the same tree which makes it easy to copy & paste or drag & drop systems.
  • Find Duplicates
  • Find & Replace
  • Import from RRDB directly {edit} RR subscription required
  • Import Win Clipboard
  • Import from Sentinel {edit} Sentinel may do it too.
  • Versatile Sorting options
  • Google Maps showing all the systems on a web page
  • Export nicely formatted web page showing any or all (user selectable) the FQK's, SQK's, Number Tags, and systems
  • Copy & Paste and Drag & Drop nodes to other systems and other ProScan instances
I'm sure I missed a few things but this is off the top of my head.

Just FYI, Bob...

* Copy-n-paste in Sentinel is across FLs en EDIT mode. (no drag-n-drop)
* RRDB is in Sentinel as a default. (update imports everything applicable)
* Sentinel can export and import to other Sentinel versions.

Tried it and Liked it. Really like the virtual player too. Just Bought It to add to ARC & Sentinel. Seems like they all have their separate pros & cons.

Thanks for the compliments. What's the con to see if something needs improvement?

You mean like if a Fire Dispatch, Fire Tac or Fire*(wildcard) channel is active then the activity border(or light) around the display changes to a user selectable color or something else?

the ability to save named favorite lists
Each Favorites list can be renamed now. At the Favorites level, click the Favorite Options and rename it.

Not in the software but when downloading from RR

Are you talking about the Alert Color and Slow or Fast Blink? I'll put it on the list. I think this is more of a suggestion then a con.

When saving the favorite list to the hard drive
The Favorites List are in the file "f_list.cfg" They are named exactly like in the Favorites Editor (which can be renamed) and in the scanner. One of the objectives of ProScan is to follow the scanner database structure exactly. In line with that, I will keep it the way it is now.

I'm sure I missed a few things but this is off the top of my head.

Ive imported the following system and a few others

https://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=8938

using Proscan I have all favorite lists disabled except for the one with this system in it
and all i get is nothing to scan

seems if i enter the system using proscan it wont work i can go into scanner edit favorite and its all in there it just wont scan it

if i enter it directly into 436/536 it will scan??

its gotta be something simple im not seeing

thanks
