yup
Does anyone have radio info or any info on the Providence FD in Jefferson County? The County fire service webpage mentions an all volunteer Providence / Lock 17 FD. And the County GIS shows as ESN 402 in that area. But the assessor has no fire station info and Google shows no info of the FD. The Secretary of State shows that a Providence FD was formed in 2009 near Adger. RRDB does not have any info on the FD.

Providence / Lock 17 VFD doesn't show up on the Alabama Forestry Commission fire department list. AFC certifies every VFD in the state. Perhaps they already disbanded or merged with another department, or the department was formed but never received AFC certification?

yup
this might be the answer

esn 68
Parcels: 33 00 30 0 000 006.001
Owner Name: Antioch Fire Department
Street Address: 13740 Groundhog Rd

Antioch FD from Tuscaloosa County owns a lot in the area and the county gis imagery does show a small bld there ... but this is a very strange lot ... it is right on the Tuscaloosa County border and it seems to be the only lot in Jefferson County with ESN 68 ... and all the adjacent lots in Jefferson County are ESN 402

Lets see what we can dig up on Antioch FD

THEY ARE ON THE CONCORD FIRE TALKGROUP ON THE JEFFCO 800 MHZ SYSTEM .

That is correct. Antioch covers that area. Radio checks at 8am and 8pm if anyone wants to confirm it. Concord transports for Antioch in JeffCo when their transport unit is available. They also share mutual aid. (lack of available transport units is a serious problem in western JeffCo at this time)

Antioch's station is on Lock 17 Road in Tuscaloosa County at the top of the hill just south of Davis Creek in the Antioch Community. They used to keep equipment on Sellers Town Road at someone's home. There may be another building at the "Groundhog International Airport" :) where Jackie Watson used to land his aircraft on Groundhog Road. I attended an event there years ago when they were trying raise money to form a fire department.
