Yep, sure, just last week in my region (Bas du Fleuve), i heard traffic on UTAC-Q2 (418.1375)… but wasn’t able to locate the town. They were talking about a fire exercise and condition of their trucks after.
So it is one more reason that I keep these V and U freqs alive in my scanners.

Is there 800MHz Tac in Quebec? For the departments that have the 800 MHz radios

Mmmmmm… 800MHz is not used much in the province. maybe in Montreal the 800 Tac *may* be used (I haven’t checked), but outside Montreal I don’t think it’s used, as VHF is more common.

In fact, if you lookup ISDE radio licences database, there are quite a few towns and cities that have the 8 VTAC frequencies licensed to them.

VTAC and UTAC are usually use as simplex frequencies (around 1-2 KM range) but some fire department might have the same frequencies with another CTCSS for their dispatch. In my city they will use UTAC-1 for exercises and when they're on a fire.

I already saw a 5th alarm fire where they were using 3 UTAC simplex frequencies (UTAC-1,UTAC-2 and UTAC-3)
