My question is this ; if you install the provoice upgrade and then
do a id search on a edacs system will it decode them and show id.

In the above no provoice channels are programed into system.

The system may have them but are not in the database.

Yes, It will show TG's and RID's (UID's).

The scanner has always shown the IDs. The difference is that it will now decode the digital voice in addition to letting you hear the analog audio.

No features were removed.

When will the BCD536HP Scanner be released with the new Digital ProVoice upgrade already built into it by default without having to do the upgrade separately for an additional $50.00?

Just curious because I would rather wait some months or so for that to happen with the BCD536HP & then invest in this scanner now that it can supposedly pick up unencrypted Digital ProVoice radios & signals which of course, are highly used in only one county in my entire state of NM which is the county that I live in which I would love to be able to hear & listen to once again with this wonderful new feature that Uniden just came out with for this scanner. I have been in the blank nothingness for 5 plus years now where I live because of the Digital ProVoice radios & signals being used widely by my police, fire departments etc. that made it so that I could no longer hear or pick them up for all of these years until now I hope with the new ProVoice capability feature of the BCD536HP.

Pure speculation on my part but I seriously doubt ProVoice decoding will offered that way on any Uniden scanner.

Besides, if Uniden enabled ProVoice on all future x36HP scanners, the price of each unit would increase so one way or another, you're going to have to pay for it.

ProVoice in NM is going away soon anyways. EDACS is at the end of its shelf life. You will see probably a new Phase II TDMA system get implemented with Encryption

I would say sometime after they make the HP-x Extreme features free.

Likely years after the product is discontinued (if they ever do make it free).

BTW, the upgrade is free. It's enabling ProVoice that costs $50. The upgrades will likely continue to be free.

Systems that can't find funding are holding on to the their current systems as long as they can find parts and radios to keep them running. Some are buying as much in the way of parts and even used radios as they can find and afford.

No doubt some systems will transition to P25 trunk systems as soon as they can, but "as soon as they can" might be several years.

Soon is a vague term. ABQ/BernCo are looking at a new system, but it will take years to get implemented.

I swear we can't win for losing with these agencies that are trying their hardest to keep the public like me from hearing & being aware of what is going on around around us which should be a public right to be able to do this & as a freedom as well for us. My county is one of the worst here in NM & always has been about keeping their radio communications privatized & out of the public's business making it so that we are not & cannot be aware of what is going on nearby us with their orneriness of privacy with their (always switching radios & systems) that they seem to do every single time a company like Uniden makes it possible to hear & listen to them again with what they are using!!!

Will the Uniden BCD536HP pickup Phase II TDMA systems & signals currently?

Makes you wonder what they don't want the taxpayers knowing...

Provided it's not encrypted, yes. (provided by "pickup" you mean decode...)

$50 and 5 minutes you have it up running listening to your local DIGITAL PV system after your initial investment on the scanner, its neither difficult or costly if you want to listen.

Late last year Uniden announced a paid upgrade for their flagship scanners. The ability to decode Provoice. If you bothered to look around the forums you would have found the announcement from UPMAN.

Darkwolf:
Uniden just released an update that will allow the BCD436HP and BCD536HP to recieve provoice for a one-time fee. Those are the only 2 scanners that I know of right now that will recieve provoice.

I can write other changes to the scanner, so it's not like the computer & scanner are not communicating

Entering ProVoice Key

I have purchased the ProVoice Key for my BCD536HP & have installed Sentinal 1.06. But I can not find where or how to enter the ProVoice Key. The Firmware version on the scanner is 1.10.02. The database date is listed as 08/23/2015; which Sentinal says is the most current.
