Wayne: Caleb sent me the info.

The key generated matches the info you provided. So, either you are just not entering the key correctly or you provided an incorrect ESN (transposing 2 adjacent digits is the only way the checksum would still match).

Ryan: I still cannot help you without you telling me specifically what exact steps you are doing to get to that error message. It might be better for you to call customer service and walk through it with them.

Here is what happened to me: registered scanner with full serial number on back label. Went through process to enter ESN and check sum. Got same message as in post 9 above. Tried again, same result. Deleted scanner, registered again using ONLY 8 digits following the "z" on the back label, everything worked perfectly from there. Received key, entered into scanner with success.

The label on the back does not matter. What is the actual ESN/Checksum of the scanner? Does it match what is on the my uniden page?

willdanl: I cannot duplicate that event. From what I can tell, there is no validation on the serial number, only the ESN. I'll double check with our IT guy, though.

Wayne: Then that is the correct key. Make sure you aren't reading any B's as 8's or vice versa. Also make sure you are entering the hyphens.

Ryan: It looks like you've met with success. I saw your record update to have the ESN/Checksum and you have a link to purchase the key, now.

Yup it was the Hyphens Paul.. I am so used to everything parsing them out that I do it by habit now. My apologies for the confusion sir!

If it is giving you a link to purchase the upgrade, then you did it right.
