Hello Upman,
I've registered, entered ESN, purchased key,
gone to input provoice key on radio, won't accept first digit, and doesn't display what I type.
It just gives an error beep. Where am I Erring?

What is the first digit? Are you using the 1.10.02 firmware?

Also, you ARE using the scroll knob to select the digits, and not the keypad, right? (bet this is the issue)

ok Im lost I have updated sentinal I have bought the provoice key

now how do I apply it to the radio ?????

Make sure you have also updated the firmware on the radio from the updated Sentinel. Then, on the scanner go to the menu - settings - upgrade - upgrade provoice and enter the key there. Be sure to put in the dashes.

Question for Paul: Will you be issuing a firmware update for those of us who don't need ProVoice that corrects the "Fixed an issue where the backlight turns off when set to Open Squelch and Reply Duration=off" issue?

Not a big deal, but it would be nice to have that option.

What you want is in the new firmware. Don't confuse the new firmware, issued today, with the ProVoice option, also made available today.

The new firmware allows you to access the ProVoice option, but is not strictly for people wanting ProVoice.

Make sense?

Little addition... The only difference you will see in the menu is under "Settings" you will see the "Upgrade" listing for Pro Voice...

Hey, I just noticed that on my 436 now, on conventional channels at least, backlight set to 'squelch' stays lit during the delay time as well! Hooray!

Yep...Looks like they did it right this time...
The usb power and 15 second delay to go to serial port works too...

Almost. So close though. The trunked transmissions still shut off the light when the signal ends instead of when delay expires.

I just noticed that too. Soon as the squelch closes it's off...

I see that on my local PD too.. It is conventional... It has a 2 sec delay set...

OK... Maybe because it's conventional but using P25 Digital Voice...
