Yes correct, If it's encrypted it will either stop on the talk group channel or it'll skip the channel.

Um, I'm a little confused by that. When an encrypted P25 signal is received, the radio resumes scanning immediately. What does the radio do when an encrypted PRV signal is received?

Hey, I just noticed that on my 436 now, on conventional channels at least, backlight set to 'squelch' stays lit during the delay time as well! Hooray!

Are you sure it hasn't turned the light out immediately as soon as the transmission is over? That's how mine has behaved, and everyone has been clamoring for that to be "fixed" for ages.

Sorry about that, When my scanner picks up Encrypted traffic it stops then it scans on and at times it doesn't stop on Encryption traffic.

light stays on till the delay is gone and done. I change the delay for two seconds to five seconds and same thing (on conventional). From what I remember it's been that way forever I quite often look at the screen after they're done talking.

Thanks Kevin! I got it worked finally some how it wouldn't accept 0FF but it works now. Do I download the Provoice thru the Sentinel?

BTW, the latest database should have the PV systems in it if that is what you are asking.

If you mean how do you specify PV on the channel, there is no need to. Just enter the EDACS TG and if it is PC it will decode it.

If you mean how do you enable the upgrade through Sentinel, you can't. You have to enable it in the scanner.

The only part Sentinel plays, aside from the new dB, is that you must use Sentinel to update the firmware to version 1.10.02.

Same here. I have no PV within 200 miles of me but I am happy for you who do have such systems. I also appreciate the new features that apply to nearly everyone even though I doubt I will use any of them.

More than anything, I'm glad to see Uniden back to releasing feature-rich updates although I know there are some features some still want.

The firmware fix is in the new firmware.Its free.

Version 1.10.02 fixes all those issues. The PV uograde, while the new firmware supports it, is not mandatory to purchase. If you don't want it, don't buy it and ignore the UPGRADE selection in the SETTINGS menu.

The firmware update isn't the ProVoice feature. The ProVoice feature is a separate, purchasable item that is only available after you upgrade to the latest firmware.

The firmware update allows the scanner to utilize the purchasable, completely separate ProVoice feature, among many other things including that which you want.

If you want the feature you're talking about, upgrade to Sentinel 1.06.00, connect your scanner, and click Update Firmware.

If you refuse to do that, nobody can help you.

Never thought I would see PV on a scanner .. but lots of PV here. But there is nothing worth listening to .. so sorry Uniden. Not going to happen but for some I am sure today is a great day.

Not much to listen to here in the NYC area---- a few areas of NJ are still on ProVoice, but at 49.99 a pop, I throw my support to Uniden for the effort in getting it running on both my 436 and 536 scanners. I want to encourage Uniden to continue development of the x36, but you know the deal---- still waiting for my Android Siren and Analyze functions to be completed. Let's hope some of the $$$ from the ProVoice updates goes into completing those functions.

I may only monitor a limited amount of traffic on ProVoice, but I do travel into the areas of Jersey that still use it, and of course if I don't have it, I'll need it some day when I am out there no doubt.

Incidentally, installation went very smoothly on both my 436 and 536 units.
