ProVoice

The only way to get a proVoice scanner is when poorvoice goes the way of the Dodo.
The only way that will happen is when the Feds STOP offering grants for this poor system.
Go Apco-25 at 700 Mhz!!! Offer grant money for ONLY for 700 Mhz digital systems.
Lets get ALL of our first responders on the SAME type of system Nationwide.
The military has done this with the SINCGARS radio system. They all can talk to each other.

So long as PROVOICE remains proprietarty and not shared with scanner manufacturers the answer is no way Jose, No Way Hose B. Our inability to monitor is their sales point. We've beaten this to death in previous threads and the fact remains.

700 rules only require P25 for use on the interoperability channels. Provoice will be allowed on normal operating channels. Macom will certainly have a dual mode radio.

Yes with the right equipment, but count on paying well over it's really worth to listen.

M/A-COM appears to be offering only OpenSky for 700 (aside from interop-channels)

Of course decisions change all the time.

Maybe for some people, but for others, no price is too high.

Hey pass me the club so I can beat the dead horse. Thanks.

Hey new guy, look back to around 04/01/2005. Someone started a thread on this new scanner that will be ProVoice capable!!! Just start scrolling through the pages until you see it, again the thread was started on 04/01/2005.

Hope this helps,
Brandon G.

That was an April Fool's Joke.

oh and another question..

since there are ASTRO/APCO digital radios one could get for non trunked systems.
can you also get a Provoice radio for conventional (non trunked) systems?
