If you're talking about internet proxy settings, if you're at home you never set a proxy in any program. That's for use in an office network where you don't have direct internet access, but have to go through a proxy server to get to the internet. (If you had set that up in your home network you wouldn't be asking the question - you'd know the answer, because you would have set up the proxy server.)
