I'm getting back into portable handhelds and listening to them again. I'm waiting on a BCD436HP to arrive. I dug off the shelf my large an assortment of antennas. I'm please to find I have the recommended antenna for this new radio, a Diamond RH77CA and RS800 along with a few others to try.

Well, I found two (2) PRYME RD-9's labeled VHF/UHF High Gain. I'm sure they won't work very well with the BCD436HP but I was wondering if others have heard of or used this PRYME 9" antenna?

Most scanners will work with a coat hanger or a paper clip, if pressed into service. If your antennas have the right fitting, go for it. Appears they have a bnc, since you are not transmitting with them, they will work. Compare with the captured signal strength,, with your other antennas. The scanner antennas, come out as a "jack of all trades" antenna. Your specific to vhf and uhf should show better reception on vhf and uhf signals. 800 trunking, not sure. It depends how close you are to the 800 trunking towers.
