Mike is correct. I built my own radio interface cable, an 8 pin mini-din for my Yaesu FT857. The only thing was it had separate input and output connections, as it must. So I bought an external USB sound card, and connected one connection to the internal card, one connection to the external card, then found which cards were best for input and output, and set it up as such.
I will suggest though, if you follow what I did, take time to invest in a decent USB sound card. My first I did not, and it tried cooking itself it became so hot. I spent about $35 for a decent card and it worked great for years until I chose to buy the SignaLink USB.
