Back in the 80's and 90's I worked rescue on I-81 in Lebanon and Schuylkill Counties. Worked with S-8 and S-11 but can't remember which one was Harrisburg or Hazelton. Any old timers out there can refresh my memory? Any help on other Troop S stations? I think Milesburg was S-1 and York was S-20. Thanks

I know this is an old post, but I happened to come across it while searching for different information about PSP. I've done some research, and from what I can tell, the following are the former Troop S stations (in alphabetical order; I don't know the troop designations/numbers):

Belle Vernon, Fayette County
Chambersburg, Franklin County
Dunmore, Lackawanna County
Fern Ridge, Monroe County
Gibson, Susquehanna County
Harrisburg, Dauphin County
Hazleton [Valmont], Luzerne County
Highspire, Dauphin County
Milesburg (HQ), Centre County
Mount Pocono, Monroe County
Pittsburgh, Allegheny County
Quakertown, Bucks County
Swiftwater, Monroe County
Washington, Washington County
York, York County

I hope that helps.

Thanks for reply

My research has Highspire as HDQR for Troop T (Turnpike)

The stations I think I have identified as Troop S are Milesburg S-1, Milton, Dubois, Washington, Meadville, Mercer, Gibson, Hazelton, Dunmore, Mt. Pocono replaced by Fern Ridge replaced by Swiftwater, Harrisburg, Chambersburg, York, Belle Vernon, Findlay replaced by Pittsburgh, Lords Valley replaced by Blooming Grove. My understanding is Troop S only patrolled I-79, I-80 and I-81. Belle
Vernon I-70 and York I-83 and Lords Valley I-84 were added later. The only thing I cannot identify
are their station numbers
