I am attempting to program a PSR-400 for a friend and am having problems. Using Win 97 and the GRE cable, I am getting the error "Unable to Open the Port", "Com 1 Does Not Exist". I downloaded a "dotnetfx" that I saw suggested on www.starrsoft.com for problems with downloading.

Could it be a driver for the cable? I downloaded a new driver a while pack when I updated my Win500 program... but can't remember where that is to check for another update.

I'm at a loss right now. What should I do next???

Thanks,
Todd

If you go to the Win500 page ,it has 2 important notes and links for updating MS.net & FTI drivers. How is your Win 500 program working ??

With your USB cable plugged in, go to Control Panel -> System -> Hardware -> Device Drivers and look under Ports to find the COM port that has been assigned to your cable. If it is not there, you'll need to install the driver for the cable.

Then in WIN97 under configuration set it to the same COM port. Try again.
