Hi all, I just have got my PSR-410 all programmed with ARC310 to my liking. I added my Counties low band and some VHF-Hi through UHF-Hi frequencies. Now it seems to me the lo-band VHF and Hi band VHFUHF is dead on this radio. :( The depts come in all staticy and noisy for some odd reason. Side by side comparison to my old Bearcat 895 XLT has it BEAT hands down on reception. I have used my outdoor antenna with no improvement at all. Even the telescopic whip makes no difference as compared to the old Bearcat. I listen to the Suffolk County, NY frequencies from the database. Unit was purchased new from Scanner Master. Now should I return it to Scanner Master or contact GRE directly? I'd be happy with an exchange to see if there is any difference. Maybe mine is bum or something who knows. Just not happy for my first GRE scanner.

Make sure the global attenuator isn't on, as I believe it's turned on by default. Its indicated by a "GA" beside the signal strength indicator. If it is on try turning it off by pressing FUNC + ATT

I don't have a PSR-310 or 410, but I have noticed that the older generation GREs do have slightly more noise than you would expect in the analog audio, but its not too bad.

Avery thanks for the reply. I contacted GRE last night and was met with the most fatest reply to my issue from GRE's VP Wayne Wilson. He mentioned the same to make sure the Global Attenuation wasn't on by chance which it wasn't. He is going to send me a new 410 as I return my unit back to GRE. Paid shipping both ways to boot. Now this is some excellent customer service. Makes me a very happy person at the moment. :) Will keep you posted on when the new 410 is received and set back up.

Back in buisness

Got my replacement 410 back today and man, what a difference! Everything was taken care of and handled promptly on the replacement. Now I can enjoy listening again.
