psr-500 a few questions

ok im asking this because i dont have one but i guy i know is in need of help..


can the psr-500 be programmed with control channels only like the pro-96
second can i use my pro-96 file with a psr software to program it

i do have the cable for the 96 i would imagine that they are the same

Yes, the cables are the same between the Pro-96 and the PSR-500.

I know with Don Starr's Win500 program, you can directly download from your Pro-96 scanner into the software and reload it into a PSR-500. I can't say the same about other software products as I haven't used them, though someone will chime in I'm sure.

Win500 from StarrSoft is the only software for the PSR-500 that can import .p96 files created with Win96.

PSREdit 500 will also import a .p96 file

PSREdit 500 will also import a .p96 file

It will not import a .p96 file, however it will import a configuration from a PRO-96/2096 scanner and convert it to the PSR-500 format.
