I just bought a new PSR 500 tonight, and wanted to know if someone could recommend a good antenna to replace the stock antenna. I am scanning UHF/VHF/700/800.

The Diamond antenna may not be the best choice for 700/800 MHz, as I saw a post here from someone else who tried it, and it didn't work for him. For VHF/UHF, yes it's fine, as it's a 144/440 MHz antenna. Your experience may be different.

I use the GRE/RS 800MHz antenna. It does an acceptable job on local VHF signals, and a good job on the others I listen to. (I don't listen to any 700MHz signals, currently.)

I actually use an 800MHz antenna I bought at Radio Shack many years ago, and it does do an acceptable job with conventional VHF/UHF.
