Hi all, my name i John and I am new to posting on this forum. I have been scanning for about 10 years but only have enough knowledge to get my scanners to produce nice results. You all are so knowledgeable about the nuances of each feature, their impacts and technical meanings. I understand the definitions of all the features, but cannot make the connection as to what they will actually do if changed or switched "on".
As I stated, I don't know what all those features, settings and parameters will actually mean. I want to hear as much as I can in my area. Is there an "idiots guide to what all those parameters really do"? I have used many Uniden scanners (inc. digital) in the past but the GRE seems so much more customizable. I am really excited about what this scanner can do (I think
)
I am located near Glastonbury, CT and want to optimize my scanner to perform its best. As a side note, I will be getting a PSR-500 this week. I want to scan the CSP, other trunked and digital systems and regular local systems as well.
I realize that this may be old hat for y'all, but I would appreciate your feedback.
