PSR-500 Discriminator Tap Clarification

Have read most, if not all, the threads on accessing the disc tap in the PSR-500. What I haven't seen (probably missed) is whether or not any resistance and/or capacitance should be in series or parallel between the tap point and however you decide to get it out of the radio.

Any clarification would be most appreciated.

unless I am mistaken neither was used in doing my PSR500 tap.. should work just fine. Just to add I confirmed the above with the Guy that did the tap

I did. As far as I can tell, the only mention of a resistor or capacitor was in reference to the discriminator tap mod for a Pro-106...

Thanks for the confirmation. Have been trying to monitor Pell City PD but have not been able to get anything but garbled audio using my AR8200. May try the PSR-500 to see if there's any difference.
