Hello,

Curious about the display's backlight on the PSR 500.

Is it a simple bulb they use ?
If so, expected lifetime ?
Easy to replace ?

Or, is it something like an electroluminescent display, or,... ?

Any reason not to have it on more or less permanently ?

Thanks,
Bob

Well I'm a bit surprised that nobody has responded to this post. The LCD display back light is nothing more than 2 very small low power led bulbs which, in normal circumstances should last easily as long as the scanner itself. These small LED's are for the most part non-replaceable. Another thing to note is that the keypad is illuminated by the very same LED's (6 if I'm not mistaken).

Hope this info helps a bit, by no means am I an electronic engineer.
