PSR-500 & new Hampton P25

Has anyone with a PSR-500 had problems decoding Hampton P25 or ORION P25?

My 500 will not decode this system nor the ORION P25 system.

Programming is correct on both systems in fact, I cloned the in car din slot PSR-600 from the 500. The 600 works on both without any problems. As does 3 Pro-197's using same programming.

The 197's and 500 hooked to same scantenna using a 4 outlet amp box. All have 4 to 5 bars and all but the 500 have the T on display. The 600 also has 4 bars with the T.

On Analyz, the 197's on this antenna setup decode at 99% wit T while the 500 remains blank on bottom line. The 600 decodes low 90's to 99%.

All other systems work fine on the 500 including STARS and York, JCC P25 systems.

I've used ATT, taken the scanner on the road and still no T or decode info.

Got a ticket in with GRE this afternoon and they have replied twice and will send me an RMA if I ask.

Thanks Jeff, Pro-197's were receiving ORION yesterday also but the 500 was not.

That's enough for this ole salt. Gonna RMA 500 to GRE.

I have a PSR-600 that will not reliably decode the Hampton control channel. Have never experienced greater than 50% decode rate on the control channel. If I park on a voice channel, it will not decode it either. I have attributed it to the traditional simulcast problem. But, now I am not sure. Maybe I have a scanner problem.

For Orion, I get relatively low decode rates on the control channel also. This has just started within the last 4-6 months. Used to get good decode rates. I had assumed that Orion has installed one or more transmitters on the Peninsula creating a simulcast problem.

STARS works fine.

I am interested to hear what you learn from GRE.

I'll keep you updated. My first note to GRE was at 1232 yesterday. They replied 7 minutes later with a ticket number and assigned to a staff member. Next from unknown staffer with a few questions... need for personal info--full name, phone number, address, scanner model + S/N etc. Next from a Tech called Mike, We exchanged 3 more coms dealing with Q&A and his last waiting for you guys replying in this forum with your results. Jeffs post convenced me so sent last note at 1450 today with me asking for RMA. Very responsive organization.

My 500 was purchased in first group in fall of 07. Guess they need to figure the $$$.
