I have a question about the NFM. I noticed that when I use this option the audio becomes a bit distorted as if the fine tuning is off. Is this normal?

Are you listening to a NFM transmission?

Not sure. All I know is on my Uniden the audio is much louder and just as clear as fm.

Don't program them as NFM. Reserve that for freq's designated "FMN" in the database.
