As the default, to permanently lock out objects press FUNC first and then L/OUT. To temporarily lock out channels and have them come back on next time you turn on the scanner just press L/OUT.
Personally, I think the temporary lock out feature is one of the best features of GRE scanners. For the objects I do not listen to often enough or find myself constantly locking out, I place them in a separate bank to themselves (some with Priority if they are more important than others). Then, I just turn on the bank when I need to hear one of those objects/channels. That keeps my list of locked out objects to a minimum.
