Having trouble programming a rebanded MOT system. Here is the link to the system: Scanner Frequencies: Kauai County Public Safety Trunking System, Kilauea, Hawaii

It is the Kauai County Public Safety System in Hawaii. I am using Win500 to program the PSR-500 scanner by importing the RR database. I highligted the system in the TSYS Objects in Win500 then selected the Rebanded 800 MHz selection under Trunking Tables selector bar and Custom under the Trunking Tables drop down menu selector.

After uploaded the info to the scanner I don't hear anything. The scan list is enabled and the TGRP items have a scanlist map number.

I can hear conventional frequencies fine but not this trunked system.

What did I do wrong?

THANKS!

I agree: this appears to be a rebanded system and you need to program your receiver with a rebanded offset table in order for it properly to follow OSW channel grants.

However, if you use Win500 in a current version, the software will create the table for you. Since the PSR uses a slightly different format for the offset table than does Motorola (different in format, not substance), I'd say to use the Win500 solution.

Got it Working

Thanks ka3jjz and RKG for sharing your knowledge.

I did manage to get the scanner working. I had programmed the offset table using Win500 which includes a "Rebanded 800 MHz" table already made up. You just select it along with "Custom" on the trunking table selector.

My problem resulted in not all the frequencies were transferred through the import from RR process. When I manually put in the missing frequencies, the scanner worked. I don't know how I overlooked that, given I have been working at this for days.

Thanks folks for you help. I certainly appreciate the time you took to respond! It certainly has been a learning experience.
