PSR 500: Recharging Of ?

Re recharging of the PSR 500:

I goofed, and did not have the charger plugged into the unit prior to plugging it into the AC outlet, as the Manual says to do.

No problem developed, am happy to say.

My guess is that many others have also performed this inadvertent no-no.
Sure is easy to forget.

Was wondering: anybody actually experience any problems with doing it the "wrong way" ?

I had a bizarre display one time when I plugged/unplugged (can't remember which) the wart while it was powered and the scanner was turned on. All font characters were mirror images of the expected. Text was in the proper order - just strange looking. The scanner performend normally. Powered off and restarted and things were back to normal.
