Recently, I created a Wildcard-specific TSYS to fish for new TG's. By that I mean I did not load any known TG's.

When I encountered a known TG, I pressed the soft key specific to lock out. I attempted to find the locked out TG in the radio, but could not find it. I read where locking out a Wildcard-generated TG would create an object.

When I opened up Win500, I observed the previously locked out TG's. I know how to restore these TG's using Win500; however, I want to know how to do this without resorting to programming software.

I want to find where these TG's are stored within the radio & then reverse the process, to restore the lock out.

I would appreciate some help after I consulted the Easier Guide for this radio.

Found Answer

I discovered where the locked out objects were located when I went into the TSYS and found the lock out setting. The Wildcard TG's I activated were all there. All I have to do is reverse the setting in manual mode. I suppose someone who might be new to the hobby would find this of interest.

When in Wildcard mode, pressing F1- TG L/O saves the talkgroup in the same scanlist as the wildcard object is located in. To get rid of that lock out, you can either unlock the newly created TG (FUNC+L/O) or delete it altogether. (FUNC+CL).

Remember that when you are parked in a manual mode on a wildcard, the scanner still receives all traffic, even if you have locked it out.

Stored TG's

You have to store wildcard finds before you can lock them out...

Yes, these were stored TG's I was talking about. It is an easy fix using Win500.

I have two different downloads for the same TSYS. I did this because I wanted to keep monitoring certain TG's while looking for Wildcards. From my understanding of this radio, had I loaded the Wildcards in the system I typically monitor, I would have essentially locked out those I want to monitor.

Using a Wildcard-exclusive TSYS loading might allow me to lock out known TG's in order to find others.

All you have to do is hit man and use the L R arrow keys to go to the scanlist that they are in and then use the up down keys to go through the tgs the ones with the blinking small "l" are temp lockouts just hit lockout and they are unlocked if you hit func lockout they are perm locked out until you do func lockout again i think turnimg the radio off and on will clear all of the temp lockouts also....

Typically, when I lock something out during operation, it will restore when the radio is turned off and on. However, when I lockout a TG in Wildcard, it creates a new object with the lockout being activated. When I shot the inside of the radio into Win500, I observed the TG's with the L/O function checked.

This seems to be a way to eliminate the TG's I'm familiar with while letting the unknowns surface. At present, I am looking for an elusive agency that I suspect has moved to another TG within TxWarn P25 or McClennan county TSYS.

Thanks. I thought it was necessary to do this in "edit" or in Win500.

If you are looking to search for a locked out object, I think you can hit PGM -> EDIT -> FIND -> L/Out. From there I believe it will display anything locked out when you're using the wildcard. Then you either delete it or unlock it using EDIT or the above shortcut.

Nope, not at all. That's why I like these scanners- it's still possible to make changes by hand in a relatively easy manner.

Mysterious TG's

Hopefully, I will find the TG I'm looking for since the previous TG is now silent. Besides, it keeps me on my toes regarding new TG's that may not be listed in the RR DB for this county.
