Jerry I did a little by hand out of the manual, its not bad for either conventional or Trunking, but software makes it so much easier and alot less time consuming.........Hoser

Anything you can do on the computer you can do by hand on the keyboard. Some things will take more time to do, like alpha tagging, but it can all be done on the keyboard. I don't know of any programming items that can't be done on the keyboard.

1. What is alpha tagging? I am sorry i am a big time rookie.Ok since you can program with the keyboard what kind of time frame are we talking abut? Are updates involved? The last scanner i had was programmed manualy.This download is all new to me and sounds like a huge pain.I do have a computer and have somewhat limited skills
