I have a few questions?
1. How many channels can it scan in one bank?
2. Is it like the Pro96 version where you are allowed so many too scan per-bank.

You can scan 1800 in one 'bank' as you called it :)

# Virtual Scanner Memory Management system; One copy of working memory can hold up to 1800 objects, meaning any combination of talkgroups, conventional channels, and trunking systems. Each V-Scanner folder holds one copy of working memory. So, 21 * 1800 = about 37,800 objects altogether can be stored in the V-Scanner storage system.

I like the 396/996 where you can set up each group like 1 will be SJC than 10 groups under that you can have 1 as FD 2 PD 3 different stuff. I have *12 set up for Jax F/R where 1 is the main 800 and 2 is the hospitals and so on. Is Psr-500 something like that if so I may pick one up.

Yes you can set it up like that...the 500/600 has 20 programmable scan lists plus a FAVorite and a SKYwarn list that you can put what you want to in..so there are really 20 all at once, OR the favorites, OR the skywarn.. You can enter unlimited TRNK Systems I.E. their freqs. and Talkgroups, and/or Conventional Freqs, along with sweeper modules, search modules , and close call modules, (up to the memory maximum) in any combination in 20 + 2 scan lists...you can associate any single frequency and or talkgroup in one or all 20 scanlists which you can turn on and off at will

No, the PSR500 i have is not like my Uniden 396, the 500 has 20 ScanLists that are more like banks or dump-bins and are not so organized as the 396, the 396 has SQK's like banks but also has "GQK's groups that hold the freqys or talk-groups pertaining to the system applied in the SQK...There is a big difference...The 500 has V-Folders which can be brought up as seperate "Working Memories....My opinion....

For Those Who Like Banks I Entered 1000 Empty Conv Objects And Divided Them Into 10 Banks Using The Software....then You Just Choose The Object Number And Replace The 25.00000 Entry... You Can Easily Lockout All Of The Unused Objects In Each Bank Until It Is Time To Use Them. I Started Trunking Objects At Obj. Number 1501 So They Stay Separated From Conv. Obj's. You Can Also Sort The Freqs In A Bank And Re-number The Objects So They Are In Freq Order....quite A Versitile Radio !!

Since you're using software already, I'm not sure why you're going through so much trouble to "reserve" a bunch of objects for later use. With the software you can re-arrange and re-assign the Objects IDs at any time. And as long as you have Conv and Trunked objects separated in their own scanlist, you can jump from scanlist to scanlist in the scanner by using the left and right arrows. Then use the Up and Down arrows to scroll through the objects in each scanlist.

Or am I missing something about what you're saying?
