I picked up the PSR-600, very cool and after some frustration was able to finally figure out how to make objects and input a few different frequencies in and was rewarded with the unit scanning and stopping like it should for some great listening here in Calgary. It has meant some learning on some new ground. Haven't figured out trunking yet.

After inputting more codes the scanner seems to stop at each channel even if it has no input. To get to the next scan channel I need to press scan or the down arrow. I obviously have done something wrong and am looking at some avice. Would I be better off looking at some programming software? Is that the way to go, if so What is the best bet for programs. Reading around the forum I found rthat there seems to be no Mac based programs, am I wrong. I do have access to my wires PC.

Thanks for reading

I have (2) PSR 600s' and a PSR 500. I HIGHLY recommend the Win 500 software. It has a 30 day trial period that allows you to use it before registering it. Become a premium subscriber to this site and you can then download the systems you wish to monitor and import them directly into the 600. Only takes minutes once you get used to the software.

PRSEDIT500 is also a very good piece of software for programming the

GRECOM PSR-500
GRECOM PSR-600
GRECOM PSR-500C
GRECOM PSR-600C
Radio Shack PRO-106
Radio Shack PRO-197

It also has a 30 day trial period. This is the program that I use and I like it very much.
Give it a try, you can download at
PSREdit500 - Configuration Editor for the PSR-500, PSR-600, PRO-106, and PRO-197 Scanners
