I have noticed this on my PSR-600 and also confirmed with someone else locally where I live that he has the same problem on occassion:

MULTI-SITE MODE: STATIONARY
SYSTEM: MPSCS (MICHIGAN)
CHECK ALL CC'S IN EVERY PASS IS ON

I have 3 control channels programmed in for the system, all 3 towers I can hear fine. If you pause on a talkgroup the radio seems to loose signal strengh after about 20 seconds or so and you no longer hear the talkgroup.

This only happens if you hit "PAUSE", hitting "MANUAL" to stay on the talkgroup this does not happen.

Also, it seems to happen on 2 of the 3 towers I have that are the farthest away. I get a 80-99% decode on them still. It does NOT happen on the one I get 99% on full time.

Anyone else notice this?

Yes, I've noticed the same thing on my 600.
The signal goes away after the same time you mentioned. As long as there is
an audible transmission, it's ok. The signal meter remains peaked, and then
will fade shortly thereafter. I have a small Yagi pointed at a single tower about a mile away. 4 control
channels programmed, but the system only seems to use one of those channels.
This is on P25 Standard, Lucas County, Ohio. My settings
are identical to yours, also. I've not tried it with the 500 yet, but with identical settings to the 600,
it would probably react the same.

The Ohio MARCS System (Motorola Type II) is not affected by this anomaly.

Ernie

Hmmm... Glad to see I'm not going crazy then. Maybe if GRE is reading the forums they can look into the issue. Still love the radio!
