I am having trouble scanning the TGRPs that I have programmed. I am also using the wildcard TGRP so I don't miss any action. I am not receiving many transmissions...my BCT15 is picking up much more than the PSR 600. Obviously I have messed something up on my configuration.
I am scanning in Utah. Attached are two pictures...one of my talkgroups and the other of my systems. Any help would be appreciated.

Did you enable the scanlists for those systems? If you press Scan you should see what scanlists are enabled - make sure all the ones you want listen to are enabled.

Otherwise it could be how you hvae the TSYS itself set up.

Yes I have each system for one scan list and they are enabled...there are a couple sites that I can pick up where I live. I'd like to monitor those as well and the IDs overlap one another. Is there anyway to do this? I've been trying to read the manual and its not making sense.

Sounds crazy but have you tried using attenuation while scanning? In my area it’s necessary to hear my local stations. The radio is over sensitive compared to others.

I have not tried using the attenuation...I'll try that and see if anything works. Beginning to wonder if I need to re-program my systems and IDs.

Thanks for the ideas...Here is what I have done so far: I tried the attenuation but that did not make for quicker reception...good idea though. I Put the dwell times on the TSYS objects to 0. I set my TGRPs and scan lists a little different. For the couple of sites that I can pick up have made each site their own scan list number. Let's say for site 1...put my trunk system frequencies for that site and put all TGRPs for the system in the talkgroups and made that scan list 1. For Site 2...put my trunk system frequencies for this site and copied site 1 TGRPs...and just changed the scan list number to 2. This way seems to work a little better but its still somewhat slower at receiving hits than the BCT15. Is there another way of programing the trunking systems and TGRPs for quicker receiving? Would having a large list of TGRPs be causing the scanner to go slower?

Attached are screen shots of TGRPs and System

After messing around with some options...finally figured out what the problem was! I was using the multi-site option and had it set for stationary. Once I changed it to roam, the scanner is receiving like the BCT15 if not better! Thanks for the help everyone

The reason you were not getting as many hits as your other scanner is because in multisite STAT mode it only scans one CC per cycle through the system. Example being say you have a TSYS with 5 CC's, CC 1 threw 5, on the first pass threw the system it will check CC 1, then check all other objects you have programed. On the second pass threw it will check CC 2, so on and so forth, so you miss alot of traffic with the multisite STAT mode on.

Edit:

tbogs,

It appears you have each TSYS listed by site. If so, turning multi site off may be best choice and since you have 6 TSYS, (some may be out of range) use scanlist by association with site may be best choice.

He might miss some stuff if he's scanning many other TSYS and CONV objects in addition to that TSYS but not if he's only scanning that one TSYS with 5 CCs on your example.

If the scanner would work the other way around then obviously you'll miss stuff in other TSYS or CONV objects because it'll spend more time in each. So no matter how the scanner would do it, you will 'miss' some stuff somewhere. It's all about which way do people prefer and if GRE does anything about it, hopefully it'll add an option to let us choose which way we want the radio to behave.

But that subject was already beaten to death in other threads.....

The only other suggestion to the OP's original problem is that he might've been experiencing a bug in the Multi/STAT setting that's been discussed before where CCs programmed in the first and sometimes second slot of the list do not get scanned most of the time when in that mode.
