I have had my PSR-800 for 4 years now and just today I discovered an annoyance with it that probably carries over to the Whistler family of models as well.

I decided to setup the weather alert/SAME alerts using a 6 second weather priority check. Ever since I did that lhe LED light for Talkgroups would go out after 6 seconds and would not come back on to the next hit on a Talkgroup. Obviously what is happening is that when the radio checks for the weather it breaks the connection momentarily with the active Talkgroup and when it returns to the active Talkgroup the LED does not return. No big deal but an annoyance just the same.

That is the same with any scanner using priority. That is what priority does

The fact that priority interupts is a given. It is also a given that after the interupt the scanner returns to the current transmission if it is still live. What is not a given is that on the PSR-800 (don't know about the Whistler versions) that the LED function does not return to its former state of the transmission is still live. An annoyance.

No scanner does return like you describe with an led function. The annoyance in my view is not the led, but the weather priority. It drives me nuts interrupting regular operations every 6 seconds.
