PSR-800 Strange Behavior

Starting last week my PSR-800 has developed a strange behavior and I wonder if anyone else has experienced this. I have my radio set up so that when a hit is received the LCD backlight comes on and the LED lights with a specific color. The LED used to stay on for the duration of the transmission. But now it stays lit for about 2 seconds and goes out and does not light again until a new hit. I have found that by using the radio's key pad and menu if I reset the radio to default values the problem is corrected. Next time I download the configuration to the radio the problem reaappears. So I copied the configuration to the PC. But when I copy back to the radio the problem reappears.

I have not totally erased EZScan from my PC but I did reinstall EZScan over the existing files.

When the severe thunderstorms came through my area last week I had turned on the 2 second prioity feature for Skywarn and also the 6 second feature for weather SAME. When those features activated they broke the continunity of the regular hit thus making the LED light go out.
