Just received my psr-800 and wow is this not a most awesome piece of equipment.

Did the decoating of the front of the case. Set the voltages for nimh batteries. Loaded most current versions of the databases. Took the time to read the manuals. Loaded up San Diego RCS and off I go.

If you are on the fence on this scanner get it. There are some critical reviews and yes it's not perfect but ounce for ounce it bests all my other scanners from my 8 channel crystal controlled regency to my recent bcd396xt.

Thanks Phil in Haines Alaska for a wonderful transaction.

Yes, I have to agree. My first digital scanner was a pro-106. Being new to the digital scanners I was blew away. Loved it so much I got a pro-197 for a base type station for the house. Then I got a bcd396xt. Used this one as my only portable scanner until I decided to get the psr-800. I opened the box, loaded the software on my computer, updated the scanner and was really blown away. Been loving it ever since. Looking forward to the psr-900 coming out later.
