Are you getting an error message? If so, what does it say?
If you are getting a "Data Execution Protection" message, see post 22 in this old thread.

In PSREdit500, select the tab that fits what you are wanting to change. For a conventional channel, select the Conventional Objects tab. For a Trunked System talkgroup. select the Trunking Objects tab.

Find the item you want to edit & double-click on it.
That will bring up an Edit screen where you can make your changes. This example is for a conventional channel.

Be sure to hit "Apply" to save your changes.

It sounds like you are trying to edit a channel using the drop-down Scanlist menu box:
1784138273210.pngThe only thing you can do on that menu edit screen is set individual scanlists to either be scanned, or ignored (not scanned). You can choose (using the "Select Fields option) what details are shown on that screen, but you cannot edit the individual settings.

If you use either the conventional objects screen (as noted in my earlier post), or trunking objects screen, you can edit to add, or delete individual objects, as well as change the scanlist that specific object is assigned to. You can also edit or assign other items, such as the alert led color, and backlight operation. You can assign a specific object (conventional channel, or trunked system talkgroup) to be part of a single scanlist, or multiple scanlists.

You also did not elaborate on what, if any, error messages you were seeing when trying to use Win500.

There are three software programs for programming the scanners based on GRE's original models PSR500 (handheld) and PSR600 (Desktop/mobile). These are the same as the current Whistler-manufactured versions WS1040 & WS1065. There are also two sets of the same models, which were sold at Radio Shack under their product numbers.

The software programs are Win500, PSREdit500, and ARC500. There is a User Guide in the Wiki for ARC500. There are two different User Guides online for Win500. One from Utah Radio, in the web archive, another posted originally by Whistler.

None of these three programs allow you to selectively save only the programmed conventional channels. oe only the trunked system objects, nor the Scanlists. What you can save is a complete programming file, including all the programed conventional and trunked system objects, as well as the scanlist settings. You can then use the saved file to program your, or an additional scanner of the same model series.

It's not clear, from your posts, exactly what you are wanting to do. Apparently, initially you had problems getting Win500 to run, but a later post indicates that someone helped you resolve that. In Win500, you can open up the file with conventional objects, and highlight all of them, either using your mouse, or using the Windows shortcut <CTRL>+<A> to select the entire list, then copy that to the clipboard using Wndows <CTRL>+<C>. Once you have those copied to the clipboard, you can then paste them to a text file using <CTRL>+<V> and save that file. Is that what you want to do?

After you go to the Scanner tab and Download from Scanner, go the File tab and click on Save As, name the file, and click on Save. It will be saved as a P500 file.
