I'm sure this question has been asked before but I sure couldn't find it when I looked. Is the only way to monitor an entered system exclusively on the 500 to disable (remove from the scan cycle) all other systems programmed in? For example my 396XT has the "system hold" feature, which allows one to do just that - hold on a system. So I'm guessing that I have to leave the sole system I'd want to hear on the 500 alone in the cycle and cut out all the others? I was hoping there's an easier way that I'm not aware of. Any input Appreciated, TT.

Maybe I am wrong on what you are asking but if you are on a channel you want to stay on hit the PSE (pause) on the bottom right.

pausing on a wildcard will stay on the system and monitor all TGs, if you pause on a TG only that TG will be heard. Those are the 2 ways I know of depending on if you want to hear the system as a whole or not.

Thanks for the replies, guys, yes putting a wildcard in pause mode is as close as I'm going to get I guess.

Your last is certainly one way. If you only want to hear those TG's you programmed. put the conventional channels and the trunked channels in separate scan lists. Then you can have either set or both. I use this method on statewide systems which due to size I need to break up anyway.

If it's only one particular system you want to listen to at a time, and not several, you could assign it to either favorites or skywarn. That way you can listen to just that particular system with one push of a button (favorites) or two buttons, func & wx (skywarn).

Thanks bama, that's even better. This is an amazing unit although I did send the it into Stuart Electronics to let my old friend Peter tweak it a bit, so I don't have it in hand right now to try that out, but will as soon as it gets back. TY, TT.
