There are plenty of sources for new psr 500's other than scannermaster, with better prices also!

PSR-500

Universal Radio
Ham Radio Outlet
Frys
HiTech
AES

Google is your friend.
When I did a Google search NONE of those sites came up in the first 100 matches or so. Then using Google to specifically search for sales links for the above companies, I never did find HiTech.

However, Ham Radio Outlet had stock and great price so I went with them. Some of the above sites show the PSR-500 until you put it in your cart and try to complete the sale, then says "out of stock". So just because it is listed, at least at first, does not mean they actually have a unit.

THANK YOU!

What happened to the factory??
Are there any products similar to the PSR-600 - P25 trunking suitable for Ohio MARCS and WV SIREN??
It was a really nice radio with many capabilities that I will miss.

I just received 2 PSR-500's from Universal radio. It took about 9 days for them to get these shipped in. They said they can still get them, but not sure for how much longer.

I don't claim to be a google expert but when I googled the radio I got a box on the right side of the screen showing vendors. The only one that does not come up in a search is AES. When I posted, all of the vendors had inventory.

I am glad you found one.

I wonder how much Uniden scanners will increase in price after all the GRECOM radios are gone?

@gmclam: you can always get a used one off eBay
I had a bid in on one on eBay and when the price became higher than a new unit, I bought the new unit.

I ordered one from HRO and it was in my PO box 2 days later. They also had the lowest price.

Perhaps if my search was for HiTech Wireless it would have found the site. I was searching from a corporate connection in which lots of sales stuff is blocked.

I wonder if the PSR 500's and PRO-197's will become collectors items and go up in price once they are all sold out everywhere??

They may be sought after if suitable replacements don't materialize, and the price could go up. The ball is firmly in Uniden's court to expand their features and performance... to see what GRE did better, incorporate those improvements, and then corner the scanner market. Paul? This is where you imagine John Belushi's "When the going gets tough..." speech.(Not that you guys are the Delta Tau Chi of scanner companies. Or that you spent seven years in college only to earn a 0.0.)
