You didn't mention which scanner you're using, but if it's one of the PSR-500 family scanners (PSR-500/600, PRO-106/197), it ignores "status bits" on Motorola systems. The only exception is that it ignores any TG from the control channel if the "encrypted" status bit is set.

Programming just the base ID will give you all traffic on <ID+0> through <ID+7>.

I am using both the PSR-500 and PSR-600 scanners. I have all of the base ID's programmed in, so I guess that will work. The next time I'm down that way I'll see how much traffic I can pick up.

If traffic is sent over a status bit, say ID+15 (as this system has 15 status bits), will it just come across as being on the base ID or will something else show on the display of the scanner?

Thanks.

If it's <ID+15>, the scanner will ignore it - it has the "encrypted" bit set. A better example would be <ID+7>, and yes, it would "come across as being on the base ID".

(Clarification: there are 4 status bits. Those 4 bits can add [0..15] to the base ID.)
