published downlinks - any still good?

There are a lot of published satellite downlinks in the 225-400 MHz milair band. Are any of them still good?

Here's one example - Hurricane Hunters on 243.875 MHz.

Keep an eye on Larry van Horn's webblog at http://mt-milcom.blogspot.com/... There has been some recent talk there about monitoring active freqs. He's a pro and is a wealth of knowledge on Milcom, SATCOM, MilSatCom, etc. His blog also has link's to other items you may find interesting as well.

Hurricane Hunter 243.975 - Probably not worth it!

Saw your message regarding the 243.875 MHz downlink for the Hunters. And that could be a valid link since it falls within the AFSATCOM family of frequencies, which is where they will send their vortex and other reports. But you won't hear any voice here as their AFSATCOM channel is a "data only" frequency, sorry!

Your best bet for HH voice activity continues to be on the HF-GCS frequencies and the USAF MARS PP net 13927.1 MHz USB.

Oh, and if you would like to see what is officially written, the NHOP 2006 plan is online at http://www.ofcm.gov/nhop/06/nhop06.htm. Check out chapter 5 on Aircraft Recon and you will find all your answers officially in this pub.
