• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

Pueblo City should be on the DTRS sometime in the next 18 months (most likely right around 18 months from now, and not much sooner).
The city has recieved several million dollars in grant money, and it starting to stockpile radios. In addition to the DOC site currently in town, there are plans for 3 more sites, and TG's have already been assigned to the city. The good news is that the new sites will have 800mhz CG's, although as things get built up, 700mhz CG's will be added strictly for city agencies.

I was speaking to the city radio shop and the county never came up. I have no idea what the time frame is for the county, although in the past, there was discussion of the city and county switching at the same time. On the other hand, they don't play well together...
