Two people survived a small plane crash late Monday morning at Pueblo Memorial Airport. One person was airlifted by Flight For Life from the crash scene; the other was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
The plane was operated by Doss Aviation, which trains Air Force pilots in their initial flight training. Two men were aboard - a certified flight instructor and a student pilot. An ambulance took the student to Parkview Hospital in Pueblo. But the instructor had to be extricated from the wreckage. It took more than 30 minutes to free him because of how badly the plane was damaged. When the instructor was freed, Flight for Life flew him to Corwin Hospital.
