PURSUIT-FROM GUTHRIE TO I-40 & COUNCIL

Last night Guthrie Police started a pursuit when they attempted to stop a vehicle for a gas drive-off. Guthrie P.D., and Logan County were the originals in the pursuit. As they entered Oklahoma County they were joined by Oklahoma County, O.C.P.D., O.H.P.

O.C.P.D. Supervisors advised their officers to only block intersections and ramps, to not directly enter the pursuit.

As O.H.P. was not originally asked to enter the pursuit, but they pulled rank, once the pursuit entered onto I-40, due to the pursuit was NOW on Interstate Highways. The trooper wanted to P.I.T., THE vehicle so bad, I could taste it. But his supervisor advised not to, due to speeds were only 60-65 M.P.H.

O.C.P.D. deployed stopsticks at I-40 & Council Rd., Where I believe the pursuit ended.

Kind of a late posting, considering the timeliness of the original post, but that's what I get for not checking mail every day. The action was first heard on Guthrie PD, 155.610, and then Logan County, 155.775. Edmond talked about it on their trunk system, and even tried to set up a patch between the Guthrie/Logan County people and one of the TAC channels on the Edmond system, but by the time they got the patch in place, the officers/deputies from Guthrie were out of range on their VHF systems. Logan county Law Enforcement is too durn poor to afford them fancy 800 radios, or even a VHF repeater with more than 20-mile range to the south

I tolerate it by being in rural logan county, but the mail address is Guthrie, so that's where peoples think I am. I'm 4 miles from the border of a REAL city, Edmond. Having said that, the roads are terrible, but I didn't need a zoning permit to put up my 70-foot tower :wink:
