Hello all,

Getting back into radio after a few years of being away.

I'm wondering if the Sheriff's department in my county is monitorable.

It appears to be a DMR system. The Talkgroup and other details are listed on this fantastic website.

I took a shot at programming the data into my Anytone 878. The radio seems to be picking up transmissions, but no actual audio come through. Is this a sign of encryption?

If there is no audio, it is likely an issue with the configuration of the code plug. If it is encrypted, you will get audio that you can’t understand. Are you getting the talk groups showing on the screen, or just the activity light indicator for a transmission?

The Talkgroup is popping up onscreen. I'm fairly certain it's a programming issue on my end.

Failed to mention that I am a few days into learning DMR

Tried a few different ideas with no luck. Hopefully someone can help.

Make sure that the TX and RX frequencies in the channel are different. The Anytones and Tyteras and other similar radios will not decode DMR if the TX and RX frequencies are the same. Be sure to tick the RX Only box also.
