Quarterwave vs. Five-Eigths

I'm pondering upgrading from a 1/4 to a 5/8 VHF antenna. Is the cost worth the reception/gain? Thanks!

What band? How well?
What do you want to get?
Whay type of cable, and how long?

I am inclined to agree with N-jay. if you are using a 1/4 wave, stick with it, a 5/8 wave antenna is not truely resonant anyway. A 5/8 wave antenna for 150 MHz is closer to being a 1/4 wave on low band, and I have used a 136-174MHz antenna for 50-54 with good results.
