sorry if this has been discused before, but i did search and didn't find a definite answer...i have a RS scanner antenna (mag mount), it already has 16ft of the cable, and i want to add another 10-20 feet...will i loose significant reception if i do so? I will be taking a female-female bnc adapter to attach the 2 cables...

thanks!

Just curious, could u not just get a longer cable so u only have one....i am personally not sure how much reception u will lose, but i know that the adapter would definitly result in loss, but if u just got a longer cable u wouldnt have the loss, only the loss due to a longer cable..

1) Decent quality adapters have losses in the 0.01db - 0.05db range, so you'd need a lot of them to get any loss worth talking about.

2) How much loss you'll get depends on the frequency and the type of cable. Without knowing the frequency there's no way to advise you on the type cable you'd need.
