Yaesu: Query re my FT-2900 which powers on and...

[Mobile Unit set to bring up weather channel upon pwr being applied]...pwr turned on...cycles through [14.8v] the unit then begins immediately begins a continuous cycle thru all ten weather channels without stopping on a channel!

Prior to resorting to "RESET' the unit, i'm curious if someone has experienced this and if there is something else to mitigate the issue instead of losing all mobile settings?

thanks to all in advance for reading the thread and if some respond, i'll put in a good word to the bearded bloke wearing the red suit about your assistance which might negate at least one naughty activity you perpetuated this year! [hey might help move your xmas present from a thick thorny switch to a lump of coal!!]

Weather Alert Scan is on and scanning only WX channels?

"If you are just scanning the Weather Broadcast Channels, the FT-2900R's receiver will remain muted indefinitely unless the Alert Tone is received. This yields a long period of monitoring time, as no power will be consumed via audio output while scanning (for the Alert Tone) is in progress."
