Hello All
I am looking to replace an Aging Antenex C40 I use to pick up the California Highway Patrol and A Junk Amazon buy for all other Frequency! I Run A Uniden BCT 15X I Am considering the following

A Laird 150-450-800 Scanner Antenna Black (ABSCANC) Or a Larson Triband Off Amazon
A Laird 40-47MHz DC Ground Base Load Antenna Black Chrome (C40) For CHP Is this still an Appropriate Antenna To Replace The Antenex C-40? (I Was Assuming it's the same I do not recall the specs on the Antenex as I bought it 22 years ago)

I am also open to recommendations Thanks

The two Area Offices I monitor For CHP Are Solano & Napa

The Tri-Bander (either Larsen or Laird) would work well. The low band whip for CHP is a great addition. Larsen or Laird would be fine.

Important part will be coupling both antennas to a single scanner. Simply T-ing them together isn't necessarily going to work. I'd recommend a suitable diplexer.

The best mobile antenna for CHP is the antenna the CHP uses, a wideband 37 to 42MHz CWB42 series. NMO mount and no tuning needed to cover 37 to 42MHz. Couple that with a Larsen tri-band or Maxrad BMXSCAN1000 with a diplexer and you will cover just about anything. Well anything but VHF air and UHF air. Ok, maybe it will miss a lot of stuff, but it will look really cool.

What diplexer would work with that? The triband covers a large spectrum of frequencies. Do they make diplexer to combine the triband with VHF low?
